Insurance and Billing

We bill the insurance company based on the information you give to us. Our billing department will determine your part of the cost after they receive payment from your insurance company. You can call your insurance company to ask them to explain your benefit program. Various insurance programs require referrals for visits to the specialist and for diagnostic tests. Please check with your insurance company to determine the need for a referral.

We participate with these major insurance plans:

  • AARP Medicare Complete
  • Aetna (Commercial only, not medicare plans)
  • BCBS (All Plans)
  • BCBS State Health Plans
  • Blue Medicare HMO and PPO
  • Cigna
  • GEHA (Coventry)
  • NC Medicaid (Only as a Secondary Insurance)
  • Medicare Traditional Part B
  • Medcost Network
  • Tricare for Life/WPS
  • Tricare Standard
  • United HealthCare (Commercial and Medicare Plans)
  • Coventry/Wellpath (excluding Coventry National, Duke Basic and Duke Select)

Plans other than those above are filed as a courtesy, however, payment is expected from the patient in full at the time of service. Patients without insurance are expected to pay in full at the time of service.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal check and cash.

The Cost of Your Procedure

Because you are responsible for costs for covered healthcare services until you reach your deductible, you should comparison shop if you elect to have a nonemergency procedure.

You can use tools like Healthcare Bluebook and the Medicare Procedure Price Lookup (for Medicare patients).  Many health insurance websites also provide information on where to find in-network services.
